Berry Smoothie Recipes – Step-By-Step
Recipe 1 – Mixed Berry Smoothie
This mixed berry smoothie is simply frozen berries, banana, vanilla Greek yogurt, liquid of your choice, and sweetener if you desire. Dinner at the Zoo purchased bags of mixed frozen berries and make these with apple juice as there is no need to add any sweetener later. Other items that you need are skim milk, almond milk, coconut milk or even a cranberry juice or a little honey (though this is not needed if you use juice).
Recipe 2 – Triple Berry Smoothie
Delish picked strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and bananas to be their base or any combination of 3 portions of fruits including blueberries. For smoothies, frozen fruits are the best because it blends up thicker than fresh fruits and gives us a really cold smoothie when done. You can also freeze your fresh fruits for 30 minutes before blending if you don’t have any frozen fruits, or add 1 cup of ice and blend till smooth.
They use about half a cup of unsweetened Greek yogurt in their smoothie, though you can also add peanut butter, almond butter or vanilla yogurt. Lessen the amount of yogurt if you prefer a thinner berry smoothie.
Then add 1 1/4 cup of liquid. Almond milk is good for that added nutty taste, though coconut milk can be added for a more tropical flavour. Other alternatives can be whole milk or fruit juices.
Add some spinach, kale or flax seeds or fresh mint, vanilla extract, cinnamon or honey if you prefer.
Recipe 3 – Super Berry Smooth Recipe
This berry smoothie recipe is made up of fresh berries, milk, yogurt, and chia seeds to create a healthy, on the go meal or snack for any palate. Chia seeds are added because they are full of omega-3s, fibre and antioxidants.
Add in some bananas to help make your berry smoothie thicker if you prefer, and they’re even better if they’re frozen! If there is yogurt, she freezes it into cubes as well.
What are the portions and the procedure? Simple, just add 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt, 2 cups of mixed frozen berries, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and 1 cup of milk into the blender, blend until it’s smooth and to the thickness you want, and serve immediately.
